Mulholland Drive is the brain-child of Australian-born composer, pianist & singer Bryson Mulholland. Mulholland composes in the genre of future-mood-soul, drawing influence from many diverse styles including Brazilian, West African & 90’s Indie rock.

Mulholland Drive is more of a collective of artists and musicians rather than a traditional band. Artists that share similar views and ideas, expressing them freely, without restraint or censorship, working toward the common goals of freedom, truth, love and hope.

Recorded in Mulholland’s home studio with his collection of vintage keyboards, pianos and drum machines, the material was never originally intended for release. Producer Nick Edin had different ideas and after hearing the original mixes, immediately began working on the tracks.

The opening track, ‘Standing at the Door’ is a self-portrait, exploring the sub-conscious journey through life. ‘Down We Go’, travels deep into into the belly of human existence, juxtaposing empowerment and bliss with the descent into madness and darkness. ‘Shelter’ examines the powerful connection between mother and son, and the inevitable reality of the mother having to let a part of her son go, as he engages in adult life and relationships. ‘Home a lil’ late’ tells a story of the coming of age. ‘Coming out Whole’ is another love song.

Guests on the EP include Daniel Brates on drum kit, Muray Johnstone additional drum programming and Nick Edin guitar and theremin.
